The highly anticipated Navi Mumbai International Airport began operations on December 25, 2025. Initially, the airport operated from 8 AM to 8 PM, but it has now transitioned to 24-hour operations. This change allows for early-morning and late-night flights, expanding its services beyond the original 12-hour window. Since its launch, the airport has welcomed 100,000 passengers by January 12, 2026, just 19 days after opening, providing more options for travelers and allowing airlines to expand their services.

Navi Mumbai International Airport is progressively increasing its flight schedule by introducing two new services. The first flight departs at 7:10 am, while the last one arrives at 9:50 pm. Currently, there are only two additional flights, but airlines are expected to expand their operations soon. Although late-night flights have not been officially announced yet, sources hint at upcoming midnight services. With permission for 24-hour operations, airlines are set to enhance their offerings, paving the way for both domestic and international flights in the near future.

What To Know About Navi Mumbai International Airport

Navi Mumbai International Airport is currently operational only in its first phase, which includes a terminal and a runway designed to accommodate up to 20 million passengers annually. Airlines such as Air India Express, IndiGo, Akasa Air, SpiceJet, and Star Air have already initiated domestic flights from this airport, marking an important step in its development.

Navi Mumbai International Airport’s terminal 1 boasts 66 check-in counters and 29 aerobridges to facilitate smooth passenger flow, along with convenient bus boarding gates.

Strategically located, Terminal 1 is in proximity to major landmarks, being just 14 km from Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust. The terminal offers a wide range of food and beverage options, including local favorites and artisanal tea, while its retail space spans 1,800 sqm for duty-free shopping, featuring 110 outlets. Passenger amenities, like a play area for children and CIP lounges, provide comfort and convenience. Overall, the terminal blends advanced technology with vibrant local culture for an enhanced travel experience.
