If you enjoy winter activities like skiing and are looking for a thrilling atmosphere, Auli is the place to be! Nestled in Uttarakhand, Auli is recognized as one of India’s top ski resorts, often referred to as the “Skiing Paradise of Garhwal.” And in 2026, from February 13 to 16, Auli is all set to host the Auli Skiing Winter Carnival, organized by the Winter Games Association of Uttarakhand in partnership with the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Ltd (GMVN). In fact, Winter Carnival and the National Winter Games will be held together and here are all the details.
The carnival will feature not only thrilling skiing competitions but also opportunities for visitors to participate in various winter activities and workshops. You can expect to witness skilled athletes competing in exciting races, as well as opportunities for beginners to receive instruction and enjoy guided skiing experiences. Here’s A Brief Look At The Schedule:
- February 12: Teams will arrive for registration, and the opening ceremony will include cultural shows, local skiing demonstrations, and ski mountaineering displays.
- February 13: Competitions for alpine skiing giant slalom (for men and women) and snowboard giant slalom will take place.
- February 14: Events will continue with alpine skiing slalom, snowboard slalom, and ski mountaineering sprint.
- February 15: Further competitions will be held.
- February 16: The event will conclude with a closing ceremony and the distribution of prizes.
Over 250 Participants Are Expected To Participate In Winter Skiing Carnival
Teams representing Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Odisha, Maharashtra, as well as groups from the Army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), will participate in the event. Invitations have been distributed, and officials are anticipating the participation of 17 to 20 teams, with over 250 participants expected.
